Biosensors and analysers based on immobilized butyrylcholinesterase

open access: yes, 2016
Butyrylcholinesterasa je enzym tvořený v játrech patřící do skupiny cholinesteras. Butyrylcholinesterasa nemá v organismu fyziologický substrát a její doposud neznámý význam v organismu je předmětem výzkumu. Stanovení aktivity tohoto enzymu se nejčastěji

Genotyping the butyrylcholinesterase in patients with prolonged neuromuscular block after succinylcholine

open access: yes, 2005
Succinylcholine remains the standard neuromuscular blocking drug for tracheal intubation in emergency situations. The short duration of action is due to its rapid hydrolytic degradation by butyrylcholinesterase (plasmacholinesterase).

Cholinesterase Unit Establishment and Issuing of »Warning Cards« for Carriers of Suxamethonium Sensitive Serum Butyrylcholinesterase Variants

open access: yes, 2004
Recognition of butyrylcholinesterase (EC 3.1.1.8) variants in human serum is essential to identify patients who may be susceptible to a prolonged reaction of suxamethonium and mivacurium, short-acting muscle relaxants.

The Reaction Mechanism of Butyrylcholinesterase

open access: yesCroatica Chemica Acta, 1975
The kinetics of butyrylcholinesterase, present in human and horse plasma, cannot be described by the Michae1is-Menten equation, demonstrated with enzyme preparations of various degrees of purity. This deviation from a simple kinetic model is best described by a mathematical model for the rate equation of a single enzyme with two catalytic sites.
