Seasonal Habitat Selection by a Threatened Ungulate in an Industrializing Boreal Landscape
Animal Conservation, EarlyView.Understanding habitat selection by Threatened wood bison in landscapes characterized by anthropogenic disturbance is important for conservation planning. During summer and winter, bison selected for linear (e.g., roads, seismic lines, pipelines) and polygonal (e.g., well sites) disturbances, unless there were high densities of linear features.Lisa J. Allergy, EarlyView. In two large European cohorts, 589 reactions to non‐mandatory labelled plant‐based foods were identified with sunflower seed, pine nut, pea and lentil as the most frequent triggers. Reaction severity was not different between mandatory and non‐mandatory labelled allergenic foods. Their frequency and rising trends (e.g., fenugreek, pumpkin seed) support Sabine Dölle‐Bierke, Alejandro Gonzalo‐Fernández, Dominique Sabouraud‐Leclerc, Laura Barreales‐Tolosa, Barbara Ballmer‐Weber, Simona Belohlavkova, Maria B. Agrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 2, June 2026.Abstract
MAIZSIM is a mechanistic maize (Zea mays L.) crop model with a two‐dimensional finite element‐based soil simulator, known for its detailed process‐based representation and minimal calibration requirements. While the model has been extensively applied in temperate agro‐climatic systems, its use in tropical areas has not been explored.Sachin Nandgude, Sahila Beegum, Dennis Timlin, Chittaranjan Ray, Vaishali Sharda, Zhuangji Wang, David Fleisher, Vangimalla Reddy +7 morewiley +1 more sourceSimulating Future Dynamics of a Groundwater‐Fed Lake in Central Europe: Integrating Modeling and Machine Learning Approach
Water Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 6, June 2026.Abstract
Freshwater systems in Central Europe are increasingly vulnerable to climate change and anthropogenic pressures. This study investigates future dynamics of Lake Groß Glienicke, a groundwater‐fed lake experiencing rapid water‐level decline in recent decades.Nariman Mahmoodi, Márk Somogyvári, Can Ölmez, Franziska Tügel, Reinhard Hinkelmann, Michael Schneider, Christoph Merz +6 morewiley +1 more sourceBGN/MDK Axis in the Melanoma Tumor Microenvironment Strengthens Tumor Malignancy by Modulating Cancer Cells and Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts Crosstalk
Advanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 28, 18 May 2026.This study reveals that m6A regulators cooperatively upregulate BGN in melanoma, promoting malignancy. Within the tumor microenvironment, CAFs show highest BGN expression. The BGN/MDK axis mediates cancer‐stroma crosstalk, driving normal fibroblast (NF) activation and enhancing the pro‐tumor effect of CAFs, highlighting a promising therapeutic target ...Hao‐ze Shi, Ming‐yang Wu, Jin‐quan Liu, Cuicui Tian, Li Ma, Xue‐mei Zhou, Ze‐Hao Sun, Zhi‐yong Xu, Run‐dong Zhang, Shan‐yuan Ye, Li‐ming Huang, Yan Wang, Jing‐shu Xiong, Wen‐bo Bu, Xian‐feng Cheng, Jian‐fang Sun, Hao Chen +16 morewiley +1 more source
