Product relationships management enabler for concurrent engineering and product lifecycle management

open access: yes, 2013
The current competitive industrial context requires more flexible, intelligent and compact product lifecycles, especially in the product development process where several lifecycle issues have to be considered, so as to deliver lifecycle oriented ...

Effect of soluble dietary fiber extracted from Lentinula edodes (Berk.) Pegler on lipid metabolism and liver protection in mice on high-fat diet

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
With the increasing annual production of Lentinula edodes, the residues of Lentinus edodes are mass produced and wasted every year. In order to further explore the added value and effective utilization of Lentinus edodes, we studied the lipid-lowering ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

How companies embed non-quantifiable product qualities through their product development process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Many consumer products have reached a high level of technical product quality. Rapid adoption of new technologies and access to a global market means that markets are getting saturated.

Rice bran-derived peptide KF-8 attenuates dexamethasone-induced myopathy in Caenorhabditis elegans by regulating locomotion-related genes

open access: yesFood Science and Human Wellness
Dexamethasone is a common glucocorticoid medication with adverse effects that can cause muscle atrophy, but no drug intervention has been approved or recommended for this condition.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Product Choice and Product Switching [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper develops a model of endogenous product selection by firms. The theory is motivated by new evidence we present on the importance of product switching by U.S. manufacturers.

An Infodynamic Engine Approach to Improving the Efficiency of Information Flow in a Product-Service System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Organised by: Cranfield UniversityIn this paper, literature was used to identify and present a worked example of the use of an Infodynamic engine. It shows that: (a) Product-Service System (PSS) information flows can be characterised by such an engine;

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Unrevealing the characteristics of low-alcohol citrus juice cofermented with different lactic acid bacteria and Hanseniaspora uvarum

open access: yesFood Chemistry: X
This study examined the effects of co-fermentation with different lactic acid bacteria (LAB) strains and Hanseniaspora uvarum on the physicochemical properties, bioactivity, and volatile flavor components of citrus juice.
