“Simply Amazing and Fantastic”: The Maude Abbott Medical Museum Visitor Book, 2018–2023
Curator: The Museum Journal, EarlyView.ABSTRACT The Maude Abbott Medical Museum has a collection of human remains which we believe is appropriate to preserve and use for teaching and research. We wondered to what extent our visitors feel the same way. We categorized all entries in our museum visitor book for 5 years into five groups based on specific words or phrases.

Arsenite methyltransferase 3 is required for mitochondrial function and hepatic lipid metabolism
The FEBS Journal, EarlyView.AS3MT is a protein that helps the body process arsenic, a naturally occurring toxin found in water and soil. We discovered it also helps cells make and use energy properly. Without AS3MT, cells' mitochondria do not work well, leading to fatty liver and reduced activity. The FEBS Journal, EarlyView.Basement membrane (BM) homeostasis relies on a balance between integrity, controlled remodelling and pathological degradation. Increased protease expression beneath the BM, along with reduced levels of endogenous protease inhibitors, drives the transition from a continuous, protective barrier to a discontinuous interface.

From hepatic to hematopoietic: LRH‐1's expanding cellular repertoire to the immune system
The FEBS Journal, EarlyView.The nuclear receptor LRH‐1 is a well‐characterized regulator of endodermal tissue. Yet, increasing evidence indicates that LRH‐1, although expressed at low levels, is also a critical regulator of the hematopoietic system.
