C–C bond coupling with sp3 C–H bond via active intermediates from CO2 hydrogenation

open access: yesNature Communications
Compared to the sluggish kinetics observed in methanol-mediated side-chain alkylation of methyl groups with sp3 C–H bonds, CO2 hydrogenation emerges as a sustainable alternative strategy, yet it remains a challenge.

Olefin Metathesis Reaction in Water and in Air Improved by Supramolecular Additives

open access: yesMolecules, 2015
A range of water-immiscible commercially available Grubbs-type precatalysts can be used in ring-closing olefin metathesis reaction in high yields. The synthetic transformation is possible in pure water under ambient conditions.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Synthesis of 2‑Indolyl C‑Glycoside Neopetrosins A and C and Congeners via Ni-Catalyzed Photoreductive Cross-Coupling

open access: yes, 2023
The synthesis of neopetrosins A and C, two 2-indolyl C-α-d-mannopyranosides, and their congeners has been realized via a direct Ni/photoredox-catalyzed reductive coupling of 3-methoxycarbonyl-2-iodo-1H-indoles with pyranosyl ...

Non-noble metal-catalyzed cross-dehydrogenation coupling (CDC) involving ether α-C(sp3)–H to construct C–C bonds

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2023
Ether derivatives are widespread as essential building blocks in various drugs, natural products, agrochemicals, and materials. Modern economy requires developing green strategies with improved efficiency and reduction of waste.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Measurement of 2J(H,C)- and 3J(H,C)-coupling constants by alpha/beta selective HC(C)H-TOCSY.

open access: yes, 2001
Item does not contain fulltextA new heteronuclear NMR pulse sequence for the measurement of nJ(C,H) coupling constants, the alpha/beta selective HC(C)H-TOCSY, is described. It is shown that the S3E element (Meissner et al., 1997a,b) can be used to obtain

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Boron-mediated sequential alkyne insertion and C–C coupling reactions affording extended π-conjugated molecules

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Coupling reactions to form C–C bonds typically require transition metals. Here the authors report that an organoboron compound can allow sequential alkyne insertion and unusual oxidative deborylation/Csp2 –Csp2 coupling, enabling the transformation of ...
