Novel Swelling‐Lytic Cell Death Triggered by Cargo‐Free Ionizable Lipid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A cargo‐free ionizable lipid nanoparticles (ipLNP) is found to induce broad swelling‐lytic cell death across multiple cell types. Cell death may be associated with lysosome membrane destabilization, involving ROS increase, lipid peroxidation, and GSDME cleavage.

A multi-level gene-diet interaction analysis of fish oil and 14 polyunsaturated fatty acid traits identifies the FADS and GPR12 loci

open access: yesHGG Advances
Summary: Fish oil supplements (FOS) are known to alter circulating levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) but in a heterogeneous manner across individuals. These varied responses may result from unidentified gene-FOS interactions.

CRISPR Screening Reveals a Novel Role for FOXH1 in Regulating Pluripotency of Porcine Embryonic Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study performs dual CRISPR screens in pEPSCs. Fitness screening identifies essential genes for viability, while FACS‐based screening uncovers core pluripotency factors. It highlights FOXH1 as a key regulator that maintains the stem cell state through a dual‐action mechanism: preserving pluripotency by enhancing chromatin accessibility and ...

No tumor-specific expression levels of protein kinase C isoenzymes and of c-fos in human breast cancer cell cultures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Epithelial cells derived from 46 human breast tissue samples of patients suffering from breast cancer have been cultivated. Twenty-five of these cell cultures stemmed from normal and 21 from tumor tissues.

Highly Crystalline and Oriented Thin Films of Fully Conjugated 3D‐Covalent Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This work introduces a fully conjugated, 3D covalent organic framework (COF) based on cyclooctatetrathiophene (COTh); the synthesis employs modulated conditions to achieve thin films with high crystallinity. The COTh‐1P COF shows potential for optoelectronic applications, thanks to its π‐conjugated structure, the preferential film orientation, and ...

High‐Density Flexible Neural Implants with Submicron Feedline Resolution

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Optimization of microfabrication methods using optical contact lithography (OCL) and electron beam lithography (EBL) enables the fabrication of 64‐channel, high‐density, parylene‐C‐based intracortical implants with submicron feedlines as narrow as 400 and 50 nm, respectively.
