c-FOS suppresses ovarian cancer progression by changing adhesion

open access: yesBritish Journal of Cancer, 2013
Background:C-Fos was initially described as oncogene, but was associated with favourable prognosis in ovarian cancer (OvCa) patients. The molecular and functional aspects underlying this effect are still unknown. Methods:Using stable transfectants of ...

High‐Performance Low‐Emissivity Paints Enabled by N‐Doped Poly(benzodifurandione) (n‐PBDF) for Energy‐Efficient Buildings

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a scalable and colored low‐emissivity (low‐e) paint achieved by spraying an ultrathin n‐doped poly(benzodifurandione) (n‐PBDF) coating onto various colored substrates. The low‐e paint enhances thermal regulation by reducing mid‐infrared thermal emissivity to 0.19, thereby stabilizing indoor temperatures across diverse climates ...

Identification of a Nerve Growth Factor-Regulated and Epidermal Growth Factor-Regulated Protein-Kinase That Phosphorylates the Protooncogene Product C-Fos [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Nerve growth factor (NGF) treatment of rat pheochromocytoma (PC12) cells induces the synthesis of the transcription factor c-Fos, which becomes highly phosphorylated relative to that produced as a result of depolarization of the cell.

Growth of peripheral and central nervous system tumors is supported by cytoplasmic c-Fos in humans and mice. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2010
BACKGROUND: We have previously shown that the transcription factor c-Fos is also capable of associating to endoplasmic reticulum membranes (ER) and activating phospholipid synthesis.

c-Jun/c-Fos heterodimers regulate cellular genes via a newly identified class of methylated DNA sequence motifs

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 2013
CpG methylation in mammalian DNA is known to interfere with gene expression by inhibiting the binding of transactivators to their cognate sequence motifs or recruiting proteins involved in gene repression.

C-FOS Expression in Central Cardiovascular Pathways

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Hypertension, 1995
Injection of muscimol in the caudal ventrolateral medulla increases blood pressure and stimulates neuronal c-fos expression in the rostral ventral medulla (RVM). The blockade of c-fos expression in the RVM by antisense oligonucleotides attenuates the blood pressure response to this muscimol-induced disinhibition of the RVM and also reduces resting ...

Spectroelectrochemical Determination of Förster Radii for Triplet‐Polaron Quenching in Phosphorescent Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Phosphorescent OLEDs suffer from efficiency roll‐off due to triplet‐polaron quenching (TPQ). This study demonstrates for a large set of host‐guest combinations a spectroelectrochemical method to measure the absorption of charged molecules, enabling determining TPQ Förster radii (2.5–4 nm) from the spectral overlap.

Стан гена ранньої функціональної активності c-fos у суб’ядрах паравентрикулярного ядра гіпоталамуса щурів в умовах модифікацій фотоперіод [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Досліджено вплив модифікацій нормальної фотоперіодики на стан гена ранньої функціональної активності c-fos у суб’ядрах паравентрикулярного ядра (ПВЯ) гіпоталамуса щурів у різні проміжки доби (вдень і вночі).

Tactile experience induces c-fos expression in rat barrel cortex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Understanding gene expression that is responsive to sensory stimulation is central to elucidate molecular mechanisms underlying neuronal plasticity. In this study we demonstrate two new methods of stimulating whiskers that provide major sensory input to ...

Transducer Materials Mediated Deep Brain Stimulation in Neurological Disorders

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review discusses advanced transducer materials for improving deep brain stimulation (DBS) in neurological disorders. These materials respond to light, ultrasound, or magnetic fields, enabling precise, less invasive neuromodulation. Their stimulus‐responsive properties enhance neural control and adaptive therapy, paving the way for next‐generation ...
