The formation and properties of a cytochrome c-type haemoprotein (cytochrome b2-haemoprotein-550) from cytochrome b2

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Nucleic Acids and Protein Synthesis, 1965
Abstract 1. 1. The riboflavin phosphate prosthetic group of cytochrome b2, the lactate dehydrogenase ( l -lactate: cytochrome c oxidoreductase, EC 1.1.2.3) of baker's yeast is irreversibly dissociated, and lactate dehydrogenase activity lost, during titration of the enzyme with p-chloromercuribenzoate or p-chloromercuriphenyl sulphonate.

C-Type cytochromes of Desulfovibrio vulgaris amino acid composition and end groups of cytochrome C553

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1970
Abstract Cytochrome c 553 of Desulfovibrio , vulgaris differs in amino acid composition and in molecular weight (9, 100 ± 100) from cytochrome c 3 (12,000) of the same organism. This protein can be easily obtained in crystalline form. It consists of a single polypeptide chain comprising about 80 amino acid residues and bearing a single ...

The c-type cytochromes of the gram-positive bacterium Bacillus licheniformis

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1987
The release of soluble c-type cytochromes from cells of the gram-positive bacterium Bacillus licheniformis was effected by treatment with lysolytic buffer. After further purification three different c-type cytochromes designated c-551, c-552, and c-554 were isolated.

[Low potential c-type cytochrome of Thiocapsa roseopersicina].

Biokhimiia (Moscow, Russia), 1982
The low potential c-type cytochrome from the phototrophic purple sulphur bacterium Thiocapsa roseopersicina, strain BBS was isolated in electrophoretically homogeneous state. The bulk of the cytochrome (approximately 90%) after disruption of the cells remained in the membrane fraction.
