From biology to biotechnology: Host‐regulation factors from parasitoid wasps are a source of bioactive molecules with translational potential

Parasitoid wasps deploy maternal and embryonic factors to reprogramme host physiology. Venom, calyx fluid, polydnaviruses, teratocytes and larval secretions act in a coordinated, compartmentalised manner. Host‐regulation factors are promising sources of insecticidal, antimicrobial and bioinspired translational molecules.

Myo1g Mediates NKR‐P1C Expression in Primary Mouse NK Cells and Participates in Cytotoxicity

In this study we analysed the participation of Myosin 1g in the development and functions of murine natural killer (NK) cells; we found that Myosin 1g is expressed in murine‐activated primary NK cells from the spleen. Additionally, in the absence of Myosin 1g, correlates with a reduced expression of NKR‐P1C but not of CD49b or NKp46.

Abstract Although ageing is naturally associated with cognitive decline, some lifestyle factors, such as formal education and occupational complexity, were shown to promote the preservation of cognitive functions such as memory.
