[Determination of longistylin A and longistylin C in Cajanus cajan].

Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2012
To establish quality control criteria for medicinal herb Cajanus cajan based on the determination of longistylin A and longistylin C, two bioactive and specific stilbenes of the plant.Longistylin A and longistylin C were obtained from the leaves of C.

Cajanusflavanols A–C, Three Pairs of Flavonostilbene Enantiomers from Cajanus cajan

Organic Letters, 2018
Three pairs of new flavonostilbene enantiomers, cajanusflavanols A-C (1-3), along with their putative biogenetic precursors 4-6, were isolated from Cajanus cajan. Compound 1 possesses an unprecedented carbon skeleton featuring a unique highly functionalized cyclopenta[1,2,3-de]isobenzopyran-1-one tricyclic core. Compounds 2 and 3 are the first examples

Cyto-morphological and molecular characterization of Cajanus cajan × C. scarabaeoides F1 hybrid

The Nucleus, 2012
Cajanus scarabaeoides has many desirable agronomic traits that deserve attention for introgression into pigeonpea cultivars. An inter-specific F1 hybrid was raised using C. cajan (ICP-26) as seed parent and C. scarabaeoides (ICPW-94) as pollen parent.

Genome-wide survey, molecular evolution and expression analysis of Auxin Response Factor (ARF) gene family indicating their key role in seed number per pod in pigeonpea (C. cajan L. Millsp.)

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2023
Auxin Response Factors (ARF) are a family of transcription factors that mediate auxin signalling and regulate multiple biological processes. Their crucial role in increasing plant biomass/yield influenced this study, where a systematic analysis of ARF gene family was carried out to identify the key proteins controlling embryo/seed developmental ...

Assessing C–N balance and soil rejuvenation capacity of vermicompost application in a degraded landscape: A study in an alluvial river basin with Cajanus cajan

Environmental Research, 2019
The value and potential of organic-dependent agriculture has gradually become realized worldwide despite scarcity of data on its ability to rejuvenate land quality. In this work, a popular cultivar of Cajanus cajan was grown in a nutrient-fatigued area with vermicompost (VC) and farmyard manure (FYM) to partially replace chemical fertilization (CF ...

Devising selection criteria based on variability and association studies in segregating populations derived from an interspecific cross between Cajanus scarabaeoides × C. cajan

LEGUME RESEARCH - AN INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL, 2019
Segregating populations (BC1F3 and F3:4) from an interspecific cross (C. scarabaeoides × C. cajan) were evaluated for variability and association studies for yield and its component traits. In both the generations, high values of PCV and GCV were obtained for pods per plant, seed yield per plant and fruiting branches per plant.

Effect of salinity stress on organic and mineral constituents in the leaves of pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan L. Var. C-11)

Plant and Soil, 1984
Effects of sodium chloride and sodium sulphate on the content of some organic and inorganic constituents in the leaves of pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan L. Var. C-11) were studied. Increased water content under saline conditions made the leaves succulent. The concentration of reducing sugars appeared to be higher while that of total sugars and starch was ...

Dry matter yield and chemical composition of pigeon pea (C. cajan) leaf meal and the nutritive value of pigeon pea leaf meal and grain meal for laying hens

Animal Feed Science and Technology, 1989
Abstract Three studies were conducted to determine: (1) the yield of leaf meal of pigeon pea in the southeastern agricultural zone of Nigeria; (2) the value of pigeon pea leaf meal (PPLM) as a feed ingredient and egg yolk colouring agent in layers' diets; (3) the value of pigeon pea grain meal (PPGM) as a protein and energy source for layers.

Development of new cytoplasmic-genetic male-sterile lines in pigeonpea from crosses betweenCajanus cajan (L. Millsp. andC. scarabaeoides (L.) Thouars

Journal of Applied Genetics, 2008
Exploitation of hybrid vigour is quite possible in cross-pollinated crops. However, pigeonpea is a grain legume crop with a moderate level of cross-pollination (20-70%), which is mainly aided by insect pollinators. As a first step, hybrids based on genetic male sterility (GMS) were developed in pigeonpea, but the hybrid seed production technique is not
