A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

The demographic, clinical, and management differences between traumatic dens fracture patients with and without simultaneous atlas fractures

open access: yesJournal of Craniovertebral Junction and Spine
Introduction: Atlas fractures often accompany traumatic dens fractures, but existing literature on the management of simultaneous atlantoaxial fractures is limited.

Function Modelling Of The Market And Assessing The Degree Of Similarity Between Real Properties - Dependent Or Independent Procedures In The Process Of Office Property Valuation

open access: yesReal Estate Management and Valuation, 2015
Referring to the developed and presented in previous publications (e.g. Barańska 2011) two-stage algorithm for real estate valuation, this article addresses the problem of the relationship between the two stages of the algorithm. An essential part of the

Birth of homoclinic intersections: a model for the central dynamics of partially hyperbolic systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We prove a conjecture of J. Palis: any diffeomorphism of a compact manifold can be C1-approximated by a Morse-Smale diffeomorphism or by a diffeomorphism having a transverse homoclinic intersection.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Large Dumbbell-Shaped C1 Schwannoma Presenting as a Foramen Magnum Mass

open access: yesJournal of Neurological Surgery Reports, 2012
Schwannomas involving the foramen magnum commonly originate from the lower cranial nerves, but they are rarely found arising from the first cervical root. To date, very few cases have been described in the literature.
