The dipole state in C13

The change in the dipole state of C/sup 12/ produced by the addition of a single neutron is calculated. The C/sup 12/ nucleus is considered as a closed- shell nucleus in the j-j coupling model, and C/sup 13/ is considered as the addition of a 1p/sub 1/2 valence neutron to this C/sup 12/ nucleus.
