Origanum Elongatum as a Green Corrosion Inhibitor for C38 Steel in an Acidic Medium

Journal of Failure Analysis and Prevention, 2021
The extract of Origanum elongatum Emb. and Maire (OEE) was used as a corrosion inhibitor for C38 steel in 1N HCl medium, the inhibitory effect was studied by different techniques, weight loss and electrochemical measurements. Weight loss measurements indicate a maximum efficiency of 77.50% at a concentration of 1 g/L at 298 K.

Tensile Behavior of Semi-Solid C38 LTT Steel

Solid State Phenomena, 2016
The high temperature range for steel semi-solid state makes the experiments particularly challenging. While the response under shear or compression loadings was studied, few results concerned the response under tensile loading. In this paper, an experimental protocol was determined to characterize the uniaxial tensile response of the so-called C38 LTT ...

Kinetic investigation of C38 steel corrosion in concentrated perchloric acid solutions

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2010
The corrosion behaviour of steel at various concentrations of perchloric acid was studied by weight loss method in temperature range from 298 to 323 K. Results obtained show that corrosiveness of acid increases with its concentration and temperature. The logarithm of corrosion rate was plotted against the acid concentration and values of Hammett Ho and

THERMODYNAMIC STUDY OF CORROSION AND INHIBITOR ADSORPTION PROCESSES ONTO C38 STEEL/PIPERAZINES/PHOSPHORIC ACID SYSTEMS [PDF]

open access: possibleSurface Review and Letters, 2009
This paper describes the inhibition effect of 1-benzyl piperazine (P1) and bis(1-benzyl piperazine) thiuram disulfide (P2) towards the corrosion of C38 steel in 5.5 M H 3 PO 4 solution by potentiodynamic polarization and weight loss methods. The influence of inhibitor concentration and temperature on inhibitory behavior of P2 were investigated.
