SUMMARYA C4 haplotype containing C4*A6 without C4*B1 is described. It occurred in the MHC haplotype HLA‐AL, Cw5, Bw44, C2*1, BF*S, C4*A6BQO, DR3, GLO 2. This haplotype was observed in five of eight siblings, including the propositus who was in renal failure.

C4 urernic variant: An acquired C4 allotype
Immunogenetics, 1985The major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-linked complotype region includes alleles for B, C2, and C4 loci. These loci are closely linked to each other and to HLA-DR on chromosome 6. The duplicated C4 loci, C4A and B, are especially polymorphic. In seven patients with renal insufficiency, we observed a C4 variant with electrophoretic mobility between ...

C4 polymorphism in the dog: Molecular heterogeneity of the C4? and C4? subunit chains
Immunogenetics, 1984Using an immunoblotting technique and goat antihuman C4, we observed five distinct electrophoretic variants of C4 in a panel of 60 random dogs. Sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis analysis of immunoprecipitated C4 showed that dog C4 is composed of three polypeptide subunit chains (α, β, and γ) and that structural variability ...
