Influence of organic corrosion inhibitors on pickling corrosion behaviour of sinter-forged C45 steel and 2% Cu alloyed C45 steel

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2017
Abstract Good mechanical and metallurgical properties of powder metallurgy (P/M) materials made them to have limitless applications. In order to minimize corrosion rate during pickling or acid cleaning process corrosion inhibitors are used. In this research work, an attempt is made to investigate the influence of some organic inhibitors with various ...

Texture Analysis and Corrosion Testing of Aluminized Carbon Steel C45

Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
The texture of hot-dip aluminized carbon steel C45 has been studied. Hot-dip aluminized (HDA) samples were prepared by laboratory experiments. The structure and crystal orientation of the topcoat layer of an aluminized specimen was analyzed through X-ray diffraction.

Boriding of carbon steel C45 with subsequent difusion annealing

2021
Boriding is a type of thermal diffusion process in which the chemical element boron diffuses in the surface layers of steel at elevated temperatures (800 to 1000°C) which, together with iron (Fe), forms iron borides that have a very high hardness (1500-2100 HV) and wear resistance, to abrasion and erosion.

Characterization of surface layer obtained by boronizing of C45 steel

2019
This study deals with characterization of surface layers obtained by pack boronizing C45 steel at 870 °C for 6 h. Analysis is performed to assess average thickness, change of volume share of boride phase and the surface microhardness in the layer cross section.

The effect of sol–gel boehmite coatings on the corrosion and decarburization of C45 steel

Journal of Sol-Gel Science and Technology, 2018
Sol–gel boehmite coatings were produced on the polished surfaces of hypo-eutectoid C45carbon steel by dip coating. After the deposition the coatings were heat treated by drying at RT, 150 and 200 °C. It was found that for crack-free coatings, the drying temperature needs to be ≥150 °C.

Research on morphology of boride layers obtained on C45 steel

2016
This study focuses on morphology of borides formed on C45 steel. Pack boronizing is carried out at a temperature range of 870 – 970 °C in durations of 4 to 8 h. Through use of linear method, average thicknesses of boride layers as well as volume share of boride phase concerning cross section of the layer are determined.

Chip formation analysis during dry turning of C45 steel

STUDIES IN ENGINEERING AND EXACT SCIENCES
Machining is a material removal process that creates surfaces through chip formation using a cutting tool. The morphology of the chips and the mechanisms governing their formation directly affect the quality of machined parts. This experimental study examines chip formation mechanisms in the dry turning of C45 steel under various cutting conditions ...
