Suppression of core polarization in halo nuclei [PDF]
We present a microscopic study of halo nuclei, starting from the Paris and Bonn potentials and employing a two-frequency shell model approach. It is found that the core-polarization effect is dramatically suppressed in such nuclei.

Meson Exchange and Pion Rescattering Contributions to the Cross Section for $pp\to pp\pi^0$ [PDF]
Short range meson-exchange mechanisms such as $\rho\to\omega\pi^0$ contribute significantly to the amplitude for $pp\rightarrow pp\pi^0$ near threshold in addition to pion rescattering.

Shuffled ATG8 interacting motifs form an ancestral bridge between UFMylation and C53-mediated autophagy [PDF]
UFMylation mediates the covalent modification of substrate proteins with UFM1 (Ubiquitin-fold modifier 1) and regulates the selective degradation of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) via autophagy (ER-phagy) to maintain ER homeostasis. Specifically, collisions of the ER-bound ribosomes trigger ribosome UFMylation, which in turn activates C53-mediated ...

Complete next-to-leading order calculation for pion production in nucleon-nucleon collisions at threshold [PDF]
Based on a counting scheme that explicitly takes into account the large momentum sqrt(M m_pi) characteristic for pion production in nucleon-nucleon collisions we calculate all diagrams for the reaction NN --> NN pi at threshold up to next-to-leading ...
