Thermodynamics of the Primordial Universe

open access: yesEntropy
This review delves into the pivotal primordial stage of the universe, a period that holds the key to understanding its current state. To fully grasp this epoch, it is essential to consider three fundamental domains of physics: gravity, particle physics ...

Diagnostic Odyssey of Atypical Long‐Chain 3‐Hydroxyacyl‐CoA Dehydrogenase Deficiency (LCHADD) Explained by Three Allelic Products From Two Pathogenic Variants

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Long‐chain 3‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA dehydrogenase deficiency (LCHADD) is an autosomal recessive mitochondrial defect of long‐chain fatty acid β‐oxidation, caused by biallelic pathogenic variants in HADHA or HADHB. We report a 22‐year‐old male with an atypically mild presentation of LCHADD who was referred to the Undiagnosed Diseases Network (UDN ...

Response of an Infant With Presumed Multiple Acyl‐CoA Dehydrogenase Deficiency (MADD) to Ketone Supplementation

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Multiple Acyl‐CoA Dehydrogenase Deficiency (MADD) is an autosomal recessive inborn error of metabolism caused by biallelic pathogenic variants in one of three known genes: ETFA, ETFB, and ETFDH. It can cause multisystem dysfunction, including cardiomyopathy in severe cases.

Three Component Thio‐ and Carboboration of Alkynes: A Modular Route to Functionalised Bicyclic Boronates

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Three‐component thio‐ and carbo‐boration reactions to form functionalised benzoxaborinines and benzazaborinines are reported. The nucleophile scope includes thioethers, thiols, and (hetero)arenes. Mechanistic studies revealed a disparity between thioboration using thioethers and using thiols.

Asymmetrische α‐Alkylierung mit aktivierten und unaktivierten Elektrophilen durch einen hocheffizienten und rezyklierbaren Lewis‐Säure/Imidazolium‐Katalysator

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.

Porous Silicas and Respective Carbon Replicates for Adsorption and Catalysis

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2010
A recent pathway for obtaining regular mesoporous materials (silicas and carbons) in one step was explored in this work using TEOS, P123 and sucrose as a starting base template. The synthesis was catalyzed by H 2 SO 4 . The mesoporous carbon was obtained
