Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Occult mucin-producing urothelial-type adenocarcinoma of the prostate with elevated serum levels of carcinoembryonic antigen and carbohydrate antigen 19-9: Report of an autopsy-proven case

open access: yesUrology Case Reports, 2019
Mucin-producing urothelial-type adenocarcinoma of the prostate (MPUAP) is a rare, aggressive neoplasm thought to originate from the prostatic urethral urothelium.

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Comparative analysis of alpha-fetoprotein, carbohydrate antigen 19-9, carcinoembryonic antigen, and prostate-specific antigen among conventional cigarette smokers, heated tobacco product users and quitters

open access: yesTobacco Induced Diseases
Introduction The association of Heated Tobacco Products (HTPs) use on cancerrelated biomarkers remains unclear. This study aimed to compare the levels of tumor markers, specifically alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9 ...

Identifying gene expression signatures for risk stratification of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in colorectal cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Serum tumour marker (CEA, CA 19-9 and CA 27-29) levels and their association with clinicopathological parameters in Nigerian breast cancer patients

open access: yesMedical Research Journal
INTRODUCTION: To hasten management and improve patients’ quality of life, there is a need for quick, cheap and accessible biomarkers of breast cancer prognosis following confirmatory diagnosis.

Genetically Engineered T-Cells for Malignant Glioma: Overcoming the Barriers to Effective Immunotherapy. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Malignant gliomas carry a dismal prognosis. Conventional treatment using chemo- and radiotherapy has limited efficacy with adverse events. Therapy with genetically engineered T-cells, such as chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cells, may represent a ...

The Comparison Between Different Immunoassays for Serum Carbohydrate Antigen (CA 19-9) Concentration Measurement

open access: yesActa Informatica Medica, 2018
The carbohydrate antigen (CA 19-9) is a marker for pancreatic and colorectal carcinoma. In our study, we have investigated the level of CA 19-9 at 50 patients with benign and malign disease using three immunoassays. The COBAS e 601 (Roche) uses an ECLIA, Architect i2000 analyzer (Abbott) uses CMIA and VITROS 5600 uses integrated System Intellicheck ...

Intrapericardial bronchogenic cyst with marked production of antigen CA 19-9; a case report.

open access: yesThe Journal of the Japanese Association for Chest Surgery, 1998
