This review covers the literature on CA125 and endometriosis; data on CA125 and oncology are not discussed. In normal women, plasma concentrations of CA125 are increased slightly at ovulation and significantly during menstruation. Marked increases are observed during pregnancy and following peritoneal irritation by infection or surgery.

Smartphone-based immunosensor for CA125 detection
Talanta, 2017In this work, we report the design, the development and the characterization of the analytical performances of a colorimetric smartphone-based immunosensor for the detection of cancer antigen 125 (CA125). The immunosensor was based on a sandwich strategy in which the primary antibody was immobilized by spotting onto the 3D nitrocellulose membrane.

With use of monoclonal antibodies (moABs) M 11 and OC125, a sensitive sandwich immunoradiometric assay (IRMA) for CA125 II was developed. CA125 antigen was adsorbed by moAB OC125 and M 11, but horseradish peroxidase-labelled OC125 did not compete with M 11, indicating that although these two moABs recognized CA125 antigen, they reacted with separate ...
