Time Series measurements of White Blood Cells (WBC) and plasma Cancer Antigen 15-3 (CA 15-3) in a patient with metastatic breast cancer, serving as a reference for assessing the clinical relevance of different clustering algorithms.

open access: yesApplied Medical Informatics
Clustering is highly valuable for analyzing cancer marker time series data. In a recent study, the significance of the K-means clustering algorithm was examined for the first time in evaluating time-series measurements of plasma Cancer Antigen 15-3 (CA ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Prognostic Significance of CRP and CA 15-3 Levels in the Diagnosis of Breast Cancer: A Comparative Study

open access: yesRussian Open Medical Journal
Background — C-reactive protein (CRP) and cancer antigen 15-3 (CA 15-3) are commonly studied biomarkers in breast cancer, but their prognostic significance at diagnosis remains unclear. Aim: Our study aimed to assess the prognostic value of serum CRP and

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Prognostičko značenje tumorskog biljega CA 15-3 u bolesnica s rakom dojke

open access: yes, 2017
The research objectives was to establish pre-operative values of the tumor marker CA 15-3 in serum and to establish onnection between serum level of the tumor marker CA 15-3 in patients with breast cancer with other prognostic factors for breast cancer ...
