Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum for Image Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum (SHWB), a rotation‐ and translation‐invariant descriptor that captures higher‐order (phase) correlations in signals, is introduced. Combining wavelet scattering, bispectral analysis, and group theory, SHWB achieves interpretable, data‐efficient representations and demonstrates competitive performance across texture,

Assessing the Impact of Promotions on Consumer Purchasing Behavior During Crises

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Understanding how households modify their food expenditure decisions during times of crisis is essential because consumer purchasing behavior frequently changes during these times. This study looks at these behavioral shifts during the COVID‐19 pandemic, concentrating on how price sensitivity and response to sales promotions changed over the ...

ADAPTIVE CACHE REPLACEMENT POLICY (ACRP): A DYNAMIC REPLACEMENT POLICY FOR CACHE MANAGEMENT

open access: yesInternational Journal of New Computer Architectures and their Applications, 2014
The discovery of memory access time as one of the major design issues in the processor has increased effort in the development of different cache replacement policies to manage what to be the content of caches in both uniprocessor and multiprocessor. This is to improve the overall performance of the processor.

Feature Disentangling and Combination Implemented by Spin–Orbit Torque Magnetic Tunnel Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Spin–orbit torque magnetic tunnel junctions (SOT‐MTJs) enable efficient feature disentangling and integration in image data. A proposed algorithm leverages SOT‐MTJs as true random number generators to disentangle and recombine features in real time, with experimental validation on emoji and facial datasets.

Ultralow‐Power Real‐Time On‐Chip Thermal Prediction via Finite Element Method–Machine Learning Codesign and Field‐Programmable Gate Array Deployment

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A lightweight machine learning (ML)‐based thermal prediction framework is demonstrated and implemented on a field‐programmable gate array (FPGA). Using measured temperature data from a real chiplet, the approach enables real‐time, die‐level heat‐map inference with low power consumption, validating practical on‐chip thermal monitoring for advanced ...

FRES-CAR: An Adaptive Cache Replacement Policy [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Workshop on Challenges in Web Information Retrieval and Integration, 2005
Caching Web objects has become a common practice towards improving content delivery and users' servicing. A Web caching framework is characterized by its cache replacement policy, which identifies the objects (i.e. the elements on a Web page, which include text, graphics, and scripts) to be replaced in a cache upon a request arrival.

ControlIt: A Universal Framework for Translational, Adaptive, and Online Brain–Computer Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Brain–computer interfaces (BCIs) lack a unified platform that works across signals and algorithms. ControlIt, an open‐source, modular ROS2‐based BCI framework supporting electroencephalography (EEG), electrocorticography (ECoG), and spike‐based decoding across both classification and regression tasks is presented.

Estimating the Performance of Cache Replacement Policies [PDF]

open access: yes2008 6th ACM/IEEE International Conference on Formal Methods and Models for Co-Design, 2008
Caches are commonly employed to hide the latency gap between memory and the CPU by exploiting locality in memory accesses. The cache performance strongly influences a system's overall performance, as this gap is large and ever-increasing. The efficiency of a given cache architecture - usually measured by its miss ratio - varies greatly depending on the

Under the Shade of a Coolabah Tree: A Second Cache of Tulas From the Boulia District, Western Queensland

open access: yesArchaeology in Oceania, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper reports on the excavation of a cache of stone artefacts, buried on the bank of a waterhole or ‘billabong’ in central western Queensland. This is an extremely rare find, and yet it is the second such site to be reported within less than a 10 km radius.
