Computational Study of Molecular Mechanisms of Caffeine Actions [PDF]
Caffeine (CAF) is one of the most widely and regularly consumed biologically active substances. We use computer simulation approach to the study of CAF activity by searching for its possible complexes with biopolymer fragments. The principal CAF target at physiologically important concentrations refers to adenosine receptors.

Quantitative Analysis of Fluorescent Sensor Arrays
Fluorescent sensor arrays address the limitations of a single sensor by leveraging multiple sensing elements to generate unique response patterns for each of the analyte of interest. This approach has emerged as a powerful tool for identifying and analysing intricate chemical and biological environments using various multivariate analytical tools such ...

Transdermal evaluation of caffeine in different formulations and excipients [PDF]
Background: The stratum corneum(SC) forms adifficultphysical barrier fordrugs to pass through the skin. Several strategieswere developed to overcome this barrier.Optimization of topical drug formulations by selected excipients may facilitate the ...

Solution blow spinning PTFE‐SiO2 membrane for membrane assisted solvent extraction. ABSTRACT An ultrafine‐fibrous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)–SiO2 membrane was successfully fabricated using the solution blow spinning (SBS) method. This membrane demonstrated superhydrophobicity (water contact angle > 150°) and oleophilicity (ethyl acetate contact ...

Caffeine-Induced Global Reductions in Resting-State BOLD Connectivity Reflect Widespread Decreases in MEG Connectivity. [PDF]
In resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), the temporal correlation between spontaneous fluctuations of the blood oxygenation level dependent (BOLD) signal from different brain regions is used to assess functional connectivity ...

Spatial heterogeneities shape collective behavior of signaling amoeboid cells [PDF]
We present novel experimental results on pattern formation of signaling Dictyostelium discoideum amoeba in the presence of a periodic array of millimeter-sized pillars. We observe concentric cAMP waves that initiate almost synchronously at the pillars and propagate outwards.

A new spin on chemotaxonomy: Using non‐proteogenic amino acids as a test case
Abstract Premise Specialized metabolites serve various roles for plants and humans. Unlike core metabolites, specialized metabolites are restricted to certain plant lineages; thus, in addition to their ecological functions, specialized metabolites can serve as diagnostic markers of plant lineages.

Potassium-based algorithm allows correction for the hematocrit bias in quantitative analysis of caffeine and its major metabolite in dried blood spots [PDF]
Although dried blood spot (DBS) sampling is increasingly receiving interest as a potential alternative to traditional blood sampling, the impact of hematocrit (Hct) on DBS results is limiting its final breakthrough in routine bioanalysis.
