Synthesis and hydration mechanism of a steel‐making by‐product based quaternary binder suitable for superfine tailings

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 1, January 2026.
• A novel low‐cost SQB was synthesized and optimized for CSTB. • The synergistic hydration mechanism of sulfate‐activated LS with alkali–sulfate‐activated GGBFS in SQB was revealed. • The SQB has effectively consolidated ST, which have significant potential for both environmental and economic benefits.

Green Extraction and Fractionation of Chestnut Wood Waste: A Sustainable Pathway to Biopolymers and Antimicrobial Solutions

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 18, September 23, 2025.
A sustainable valorization of chestnut wood waste is proposed through microwave‐assisted subcritical water extraction, optimized via central composite design. The extract is fractionated by membrane filtration and resin purification, enabling water recovery (up to 89%) and obtaining a tannin‐rich fraction, used to synthesize a PVA‐based biopolymer ...

Reduction of Basic Iron Ore Sinter under Blast Furnace Wall and Center‐Simulated Conditions in CO–CO2–H2–H2O–N2 Gas

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 96, Issue 7, July 2025.
This study investigates the reduction of iron ore sinter in hydrogen and water vapor‐containing gas. It reveals differences in reduction behavior between blast furnace center and wall regions. Results highlight the role of temperature, gas composition, and microstructure in reduction efficiency.

Low‐temperature dissociation of zircon in highly alkaline conditions: A cautionary note for studies on natural glasses of debated origin

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 60, Issue 7, Page 1573-1586, July 2025.
Abstract Dissociated zircon is largely used as a robust indicator of glasses generated by impact cratering and airbursts. The reaction of zircon dissociation, i.e. ‘ZrSiO4 → ZrO2 + SiO2’, requires high temperatures (>1670°C) only reached by extreme geological processes. Using high‐temperature experiments, this study shows that zircon can dissociate and

One‐Pot Microwave‐Assisted Olefin Hydroaminomethylation Over Bifunctional Heterogeneous Rh Catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 17, Issue 12, June 23, 2025.
Heterogeneous lab‐made Rh/CNFs gave yield >99% in the one‐pot MW‐assisted hydroaminomethylation of olefins to amines, using EtOAc as the solvent, due to the synergy between metal and acid surface sites. Acetic acid addition promoted both conversion and selectivity during the rate‐determining hydroformylation step.

Rivalry as a Contextual Factor of Gender Inequality in Network Returns

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, Volume 62, Issue 4, Page 1599-1643, June 2025.
Abstract Linking research on networks, rivalry, and gender, we develop a contextual approach to gender‐based differences in network returns. Our principal contribution is in articulating the role of rivalry – a personalized and relational form of competition – in influencing the cognitive activation and behavioural mobilization of social networks ...

MODELO PARA SIMULAR LA HOMEÓSTASIS NEURONAL DURANTE UN INFLUJO INCREMENTADO DEL CALCIO A TRAVÉS DEL CANAL ASOCIADO AL RECEPTOR IONOTRÓPICO DE GLUTAMATO ACTIVADO POR N-METIL-D-ASPARTATO

open access: yesUniversitas Scientiarum, 2005
Dada la importancia del receptor ionotrópico de glutamato activado por N-Metil-D-Aspartato en los procesos de aprendizaje y la formación de la memoria mediados por el transporte de calcio a través del canal asociado a dicho receptor resulta importante ...

Grape Stalks Valorization towards Circular Economy: A Cascade Biorefinery Strategy

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 10, May 19, 2025.
A cascade protocol for grape stalks valorization has been proposed, characterized by a multidisciplinary strategy using unconventional techniques and subcritical water as a green solvent, where physical/chemical treatments synergistically interact with biological treatments to obtain added value products from all the biomass components.
