Impaired Insulin sensitivity and Insulin secretion in Haemodialysis patients with and without Secondary Hyperparathyroidism [PDF]
The aim of our study was to investigate insulin sensitivity and beta cell function in hemodialysis (HD) patients without diabetes. We hypothesized that parathyroid gland function was a determinant of insulin sensitivity and/or beta cell function.

ABSTRACT Background Cutaneous warts are common benign lesions caused by human papillomavirus and often resist conventional treatments. Intralesional immunotherapy with measles–mumps–rubella (MMR) vaccine or vitamin D3 has emerged as an alternative, but their comparative efficacy and safety remain unclear.

Impact of Anemia on Outcomes Following Total Hip Replacement Surgery and Patient Prognosis
The processes involved in iron acquisition are closely controlled by hepcidin‐based regulatory mechanisms. Hepcidin is a peptide hormone mainly produced in the liver, acting as an acute‐phase reactant that responds to changes in plasma iron levels. It does this by binding to ferroportin, a protein responsible for exporting iron from cells, leading to ...

This study was aimed to investigate the effects of dietary calcitriol or quercetin supplementation on eggshell and bone quality of laying hens. In trial 1, 72 Hy-Line Brown layers (80-week-old) with weak-shelled strength (25 to 30 N) were assigned into 4

Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) play a crucial role in regulating vitamin D, parathyroid hormone (PTH), and calcitonin concentrations, which are involved in bone health. Some reports suggested that fractal analysis is useful in the morphometric analysis of the mandible trabecular bone in panoramic radiographs.

Strong additive effect of 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol and cyclosporine A but not tacrolimus in rat lung allotransplantation [PDF]
Objectives: 1,25-Dihydroxycholecalciferol (calcitriol, vitamin D3) has immunosuppressive properties. This study evaluates the effect of calcitriol in combination with either cyclosporine A or tacrolimus on acute lung allograft rejection in a rat model of

Osteitis Fibrosa Cystica: An Unusual Cause of Left‐Sided Chest Pain
We report a case of osteitis fibrosa cystica resulting from secondary hyperparathyroidism in a 21‐year‐old male patient with end‐stage renal disease. The patient presented with persistent, moderate chest pain localized to the left fifth and sixth ribs for eight months. A chest X‐ray revealed well‐defined, expansile lytic lesions in these ribs.
