Calcium-activated potassium channels at nodes of Ranvier secure axonal spike propagation [PDF]
Functional connectivity between brain regions relies on long-range signaling by myelinated axons. This is secured by saltatory action potential propagation that depends fundamentally on sodium channel availability at nodes of Ranvier.

Sex‐specific activation of SK current by isoproterenol facilitates action potential triangulation and arrhythmogenesis in rabbit ventricles [PDF]
Sex has a large influence on cardiac electrophysiological properties. Whether sex differences exist in apamin‐sensitive small conductance Ca2+‐activated K+ (SK) current (IKAS) remains unknown.

CCR2 Receptor Ligands Inhibit Cav3.2 T-Type Calcium Channels [PDF]
Monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) is a cytokine known to be involved in the recruitment of monocytes to sites of injury. MCP-1 activates the chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 2 (CCR2), a seven-transmembrane helix G protein-coupled receptor that has been implicated in inflammatory pain responses.

Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

T-type Calcium Channels: Functional Regulation and Implication in Pain Signaling
Low-voltage-activated T-type Ca2+ channels (T-channels), especially Cav3.2 among the three isoforms (Cav3.1, Cav3.2, and Cav3.3), are now considered to play pivotal roles in processing of pain signals.

Inactivation of CACNA1H induces cell apoptosis by initiating endoplasmic reticulum stress in glioma
Ca2+ channels are abnormally expressed in various tumor cells and are involved in the progression of human glioma. Here, we explored the role of a calcium channel, voltage-dependent, T-type, alpha 1H subunit (CACNA1H), which encodes T-type Ca2+ channel ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Involvement of Protein Kinase C and Protein Kinase A in the Enhancement of L-type Calcium Current by GABA\u3csub\u3eB\u3c/sub\u3e Receptor Activation in Neonatal Hippocampus [PDF]
In the early neonatal period activation of GABAB receptors attenuates calcium current through N-type calcium channels while enhancing current through L-type calcium channels in rat hippocampal neurons.

Human sperm ion channel (dys)function:implications for fertilization [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Intensive research on sperm ion channels has identified members of several ion channel families in both mouse and human sperm. Gene knock-out studies have unequivocally demonstrated the importance of the calcium and potassium conductances in ...
