CNS & Neurological Disorders - Drug Targets, 2006This review summarizes recent progress on the molecular biology of low voltage-gated, T-type, calcium channels. The genes encoding these channels were identified by molecular cloning of cDNAs that were similar in sequence to the alpha1 subunit of high voltage-activated Ca2+ channels.

Cell Calcium, 2006The role of T-type Ca2+ channels in proliferation of tumor cells is reviewed. Intracellular Ca2+ is important in controlling proliferation as evidenced by pulses, or oscillations, of intracellular Ca2+ which occur in a cell cycle-dependent manner in many tumor cells.
