Calcium oxalate microcalcifications in the breast.

Radiology, 1991
Calcium oxalate calcifications can be difficult to detect with routine histologic procedures. In the reported case, microcalcifications that were evident with radiography of the specimen and of the paraffin blocks could not be detected with light microscopy. Polarized light microscopy, however, revealed the calcifications to be calcium oxalate crystals.

Self-organization of calcium oxalate by flow-driven precipitation.

Chemical Communications, 2014
We have analyzed the emerging precipitate pattern of calcium-oxalate in a flow system. The circular symmetry is broken because of the hydrodynamic instability at the tip of the underlying gravity current.

Calcium oxalate in plants: formation and function.

Annual Review of Plant Biology, 2005
Calcium oxalate (CaOx) crystals are distributed among all taxonomic levels of photosynthetic organisms from small algae to angiosperms and giant gymnosperms. Accumulation of crystals by these organisms can be substantial.

Inhibition of calcium oxalate crystallization in urine

Urological Research, 1987
Chromatographic separation of urine showed inhibition of calcium oxalate (CaOx)-crystallization among substances with both large and small molecular weights. Ultrafiltration showed that approximately 80 per cent of the inhibiting activity, as determined in 2 per cent urine, originated from substances with a molecular weight above 1,000.

Calcium Oxalate Nephrolithiasis

1989
A 36-year-old white male was seen after passing a small (less than 3-mm-diameter) calculus in the urine. Aside from mild flank pain, there were no other symptoms. Over the previous 14 years he had experienced six similar episodes. His father had a history of kidney stones, but the remainder of the history was unremarkable. He was taking no medication.

Influence of Oxalate on Calcium Oxalate Crystals Formation in Urine

1986
Among the different mechanisms involved in calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis, idiopathic hypercalciuria is well documented and is of interest for therapy (1.2.3.4.). The role of hyperoxaluria in the genesis of these stones is suggested in some studies (5.6).
