The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Structural characterisation and in vitro behaviour of apatite coatings and powders. [PDF]
Hydroxyapatite (HAP) coatings are used in orthopaedic surgery for bone regeneration. Current methods of phase quantification of HAP coatings suffer from drawbacks. A novel methodology of quantitative phase analysis of HAP coatings has been devised and

The aim of this review is to investigate the possibility of fabricating coatings functionalized with bioactive molecules. These coatings are interesting when applied to biomedical devices, particularly in the orthopedic field. In fact, the application of

In this study, nucleation and growth of bone-like hydroxyapatite (HAp) mineral in modified simulated body fluids (m-SBF) were induced on chitosan (CS) substrates, which were prepared by spin coating of chitosan on Ti substrate.

Hybrid calcium phosphate coatings for implants [PDF]
Monophasic biomaterials cannot provide all the necessary functions of bones or other calcined tissues. It is necessary to create for cancer patients the multiphase materials with the structure and composition simulating the natural bone. Such materials are classified as hybrid, obtained by a combination of chemically different components.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Recent progress in adhesion strength between calcium phosphate coatings and titanium implants
Calcium phosphate, due to its excellent biocompatibility and bioactivity, can be used as the implant coating to improve osseointegration. However, the calcium phosphate coating still faces problems such as exfoliating and insufficient adhesion strength ...
