A Wearable System Featuring Biomimetic Spatially Distributed Iontronic Sensing Array for Dynamic Monitoring of Deep Tissue Modulus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fully wearable system enables real‐time, dynamic, and accurate monitoring of Young's modulus in multilayer tissues containing deep muscle. It demonstrates high accuracy and robustness across simulations, benchtop validations, and human testing. It quantifies edema severity and tracks muscle stiffness during rest, loaded elbow flexion, rope skipping ...

Spatial market integration in the EU beef and veal sector: policy decoupling and export bans [PDF]

open access: yes
The 2003 reforms of the Common Agricultural Policy of the Euro-pean Union allowed for discretionary implementation among member states. Discretion was allowed with respect to the timing and the degree of decoupling of policy support.

Ce‐Doped Lignin‐Based Nanozyme with Heat‐Activated Hydrolase Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel Ce‐doped lignin‐based hydrolase nanozyme (Ce‐AL) is synthesized using Ce ions coordinated with aminated industrial lignin. The Ce‐AL effectively hydrolyzes phosphate ester bonds and protein amide bonds, maintain high activity at 100°C, and successfully fights bacteria biofilms.

Calf pre-weaning traits and immunoglobulin response to bovine viral diarrhea virus vaccination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Calfhood vaccination for bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) is a relatively new concept, and protocols are evolving. Our objective was to determine effects of BVDV type I vaccination protocol, calf behavior (chute score, and chute exit velocity), and ...

Cross‐Platform Biosensing of Immune Receptors Using Peptide‐Functionalized Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A peptide‐functionalized graphene biosensor enables sensitive and selective detection of living immune cells. Targeting Formyl‐Peptide Receptor 2 (FPR2), the assay is demonstrated on model cells and primary human neutrophils. The same assay is applied to two complementary platforms: graphene‐enhanced surface plasmon resonance for optical benchmarking ...

Thermal Cyclotrimerization Bridges Polymer‐Filler Interfaces for High‐Performance CO2 Separation Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Thermal cyclotrimerization of nitriles converts interfacial discontinuity in MAF‐stu‐1/PIM‐1 MMMs into a continuity‐enhanced junction. Triazine–Zn2+ coordination between TR‐PIM chains and MAF‐stu‐1, together with hydrogen bonding and π–π stacking, lowers interfacial tension and builds selective CO2 pathways, enabling > 10 000 barrer CO2 permeability ...

Female reproductive strategies and mother-calf relationships of common dolphins (Delphinus delphis) in the Hauraki Gulf, New Zealand : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Zoology at Massey University, Albany, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This study reviewed the habitat use, social organisation and behaviour of common dolphin groups categorised by their youngest member, as well as the behaviour of common dolphin calves of different age classes.
