A simple NWA calibration algorithm based on a transfer standard [PDF]
A new two-port network analyzer (NWA) calibration technique is here presented. It uses a single two-port transfer standard plus a known reflectance to perform the calibration process.

Quasi-continuous time-stretched photon Doppler velocimetry
In transient high-speed scenes such as chemical explosions, magnetic compression, electric explosion, and laser-driven flyer, the target object can accelerate from 0 to tens of km/s in a few nanoseconds. The time-stretched photon Doppler velocimetry uses

In-situ Broadband Cryogenic Calibration for Two-port Superconducting Microwave Resonators
We introduce an improved microwave calibration method for use in a cryogenic environment, based on a traditional three-standard calibration, the Thru-Reflect-Line (TRL) calibration.

Technical quality assessment of an optoelectronic system for movement analysis [PDF]
The Optoelectronic Systems (OS) are largely used in gait analysis to evaluate the motor performances of healthy subjects and patients. The accuracy of marker trajectories reconstruction depends on several aspects: the number of cameras, the dimension and

Radio Interferometric Calibration Using a Riemannian Manifold
In order to cope with the increased data volumes generated by modern radio interferometers such as LOFAR (Low Frequency Array) or SKA (Square Kilometre Array), fast and efficient calibration algorithms are essential.

We present a new bound for the worldvolume actions of branes with a Wess-Zumino term. For this we introduce a generalization of calibrations for which the calibration form is not closed. We then apply our construction to find the M-5-brane worldvolume solitons in an AdS background that saturate this bound.

ABSTRACT LOFAR, the Low-Frequency Array, is a powerful new radio telescope operating between 10 and 240 MHz. LOFAR allows detailed sensitive high-resolution studies of the low-frequency radio sky. At the same time LOFAR also provides excellent short baseline coverage to map diffuse extended emission.

Development of FPGA-Based Data Acquisition System for Metallic Magnetic Calorimeter
Metallic magnetic calorimeters are a class of low-temperature particle detectors based on calorimetry, utilizing metallic paramagnetic temperature sensors to convert the temperature rise of an absorber upon the absorption of incident particle energy into ...

It is often observed that the probabilistic predictions given by a machine learning model can disagree with averaged actual outcomes on specific subsets of data, which is also known as the issue of miscalibration.
