Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

High Accuracy Solar Diffuser BRDF Measurement for On-Board Calibration in the Solar Reflective Band

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
In the solar reflective band, an on-board calibration method based on a solar diffuser (SD) can realize full aperture, full field of view, and end-to-end absolute radiometric calibration of optical remote sensors.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Dynamic Bayesian Nonlinear Calibration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Statistical calibration where the curve is nonlinear is important in many areas, such as analytical chemistry and radiometry. Especially in radiometry, instrument characteristics change over time, thus calibration is a process that must be conducted as ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Space temperature traceability based on near-site transfer of miniature fixed points

open access: yesCommunications Engineering
Long-term remote sensing precision depends on real-time radiation calibration, challenging the stability and accuracy of spaceborne calibrators in harsh space environments.

Reconstructing the calibrated strain signal in the Advanced LIGO detectors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Advanced LIGO's raw detector output needs to be calibrated to compute dimensionless strain h(t). Calibrated strain data is produced in the time domain using both a low-latency, online procedure and a high-latency, offline procedure.

Indoleamine 2,3‐dioxygenase 1 inhibition reverses cancer‐associated fibroblast‐mediated immunosuppression in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CAF‐mediated immunosuppression in ovarian cancer is driven by IDO1, reducing T‐cell function. Inhibiting IDO1 restores T‐cell proliferation and cytotoxicity, increases cancer cell apoptosis, and may help overcome CAF‐induced immune suppression in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer. Targeting IDO1 may improve antitumor immunity.

Thrombolytic proteins profiling: High‐throughput activity, selectivity, and resistance assays

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We present optimized biochemical protocols for evaluating thrombolytic proteins, enabling rapid and robust screening of enzymatic activity, inhibition resistance, and fibrin affinity, stimulation, and selectivity. The outcome translates to key clinical indicators such as biological half‐life and bleeding risk. These assays streamline the development of

Study of the Application of FY-3D/MERSI-II Far-Infrared Data in Wildfire Monitoring

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
In general, the far-infrared channel in the wavelength range of 10.5–12.0 µm plays an auxiliary role in wildfire detection as its sensitivity to high-temperature targets is far lower than the mid-infrared channel in the wavelength range of 3.5–4.0 µm at ...
