A New Screening Method for the Selection of Calla Lily Zantedeschia aethiopica Cultivars Resistant to Calla Lily Soft Rot [PDF]

open access: yesKorean Journal of Horticultural Science and Technology, 2013
This experiment was carried out to establish the screening methods for the selection of Zantedeschia aethiopica cultivars resistant to calla lily soft rot caused by Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. carotovorum. A center of leaf and petiole tissues of four Z. aethiopica cultivars were wounded and inoculated with three different inoculum concentrations,

Identification of a Potyvirus Causing Latent Infection in Calla Lilies

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2004
A new potyvirus designated as Calla lily latent virus (CLLV) was isolated from apparently healthy calla lilies (Zantedeschia spp.) collected from nurseries in Taichung County, Taiwan. Different from most calla lily-infecting potyviruses, CLLV infects Chenopodium quinoa and develops local lesions on inoculated leaves (3).

Genome Architecture and Speciation in Plants and Animals

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 22, November 2025.
ABSTRACT There have been numerous treatments of specific topics in speciation, but surprisingly few papers have compared patterns and processes of speciation across different organismal groups. In this review, we partially address this gap by asking how variation in genome architecture impacts speciation across the plant and animal kingdoms.
