Evidence of somatic embryogenesis from root tip explants of the rattan Calamus manan [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Somatic embryogenesis of #Calamus manan#, a single-stemmed rattan species, in tissue culture was scientifically demonstrated for the first time. Root tips of #in vitro# plantlets produced friable callus when the explants were cultivated for several mo ...

Induction and Analysis of the Alkaloid Mitragynine Content of a Mitragyna speciosa Suspension Culture System upon Elicitation and Precursor Feeding

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
This study aimed to determine the effects of different concentrations and combinations of the phytohormones 2,4‐dichlorophenoxy acetic acid (2,4‐D), kinetin, 6‐benzylaminopurine (BAP), and 1‐naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) on callus induction and to demonstrate the role of elicitors and exogenous precursors on the production of mitragynine in a Mitragyna ...

Modified Medium to Improve Somatic Tissue to be Used in Callogenesis [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1995
Somaclonal variation has been one way to create variants that could be used in the breeding programs. However, initial explants may not be useful if they show small leaves or nondeveloped stems. The aim of this work was to find a tissue culture medium so that potato shoots cultured in vitro could regenerate somatic material for use in trials aimed at ...

Inhibition of browning problem during the callogenesis of Spartium junceum L. [PDF]

open access: yesOrnamental Horticulture, 2021
Abstract During different phases of in vitro culture, plant tissues may be exposed to some stresses that never encounter in their natural habitats. The most significant stresses which interfere with in vitro culture are pathogenic contamination and browning disorder.

Indução de calos friáveis em explantes foliares de Salix (Salyx humboldtiana Willd) Induction of friable callus in leaf explants of Salix (Salyx humboldtiana Willd)

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2005
O salix é uma árvore ornamental adaptada a terrenos úmidos, sendo considerada uma espécie importante para a recomposição de áreas ciliares degradadas. A madeira pode ser empregada na indústria em geral.

Comparative Studies on Cellular Behaviour of Carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus Linn. cv. Grenadin) Grown In Vivo and In Vitro for Early Detection of Somaclonal Variation

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
The present study deals with the cytological investigations on the meristematic root cells of carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus Linn.) grown in vivo and in vitro. Cellular parameters including the mitotic index (MI), chromosome count, ploidy level (nuclear DNA content), mean cell and nuclear areas, and cell doubling time (Cdt) were determined from the 2

Induction of callogenesis and organogenesis of different melon genotypes

open access: yesJournal of BioScience and Biotechnology, 2017
The effect of different concentration of BA and Kinetin on regeneration of cotyledons, hypocotyls and leaves of four melon genotypes was studied. It was established that cotyledons and leaf segments were more effective as explants for bud induction and subsequent plant regeneration than hypocotyls.

In Vitro Callogenesis of Murici-Pitanga (Byrsonima gardneriana a. Juss.) Malpighiaceae

open access: yesRevista de Gestão Social e Ambiental, 2023
Objective: The present work aimed to evaluate the callogenesis of murici-pitanga in different explants and growth regulators. since this species has great medicinal, environmental and economic importance, however the cultivation process and extractivism make its propagation difficult.

Gel-Based Purification and Biochemical Study of Laccase Isozymes from Ganoderma sp. and Its Role in Enhanced Cotton Callogenesis

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2017
Basidiomycetous fungi, Ganoderma lucidum MDU-7 and Ganoderma sp. kk-02 secreted multiple laccase isozymes under diverse growth condition. Aromatic compounds and metal salts were also found to regulate the differential expression of laccase isozymes from ...

The Role of Biotechnology for Conservation and Biologically Active Substances Production of Rhodiola rosea: Endangered Medicinal Species

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
At present, more than 50 000 plant species are used in phytotherapy and medicine. About 2/3 of them are harvested from nature leading to local extinction of many species or degradation of their habitats. Biotechnological methods offer possibilities not only for faster cloning and conservation of the genotype of the plants but for modification of their ...
