Finite element analysis of primary healing implants with different transmucosal designs

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study aimed to assess the response of peri‐implant tissues, both hard and soft, to mechanical stress when using a primary healing implant (PHI) with two different transmucosal profiles: concave (Model A) and divergent (Model B). The investigation also sought to observe bone modeling under post‐extraction conditions.

Cloning crops in a CELSS via tissue culture: Prospects and problems [PDF]

open access: yes
Micropropagation is currently used to clone fruits, nuts, and vegetables and involves controlling the outgrowth in vitro of basal, axillary, or adventitious buds. Following clonal multiplication, shoots are divided and rooted.

Minimally invasive osteosynthesis using a dynamic compression angle‐stable interlocking nail in feline transverse femoral fractures: an ex vivo study

open access: yesJournal of Small Animal Practice, EarlyView.
Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of interfragmentary compression in feline femoral transverse fractures treated with a dynamic compression angle‐stable interlocking nail implanted via minimally invasive nail osteosynthesis. Methods Thirty femurs from 15 feline cadavers were allocated into three groups according to fracture location (n = 10 per ...

CALLUS INDUCTION FROM FLORAL EXPLANTS OF CUPUASSU

open access: yesRevista Caatinga, 2013
There are few studies related to the in vitro cultivation of plants from theTheobroma genus and no effective micropropagation protocols for T.grandiflorum. The aim of this study was to evaluate the calli formation in cupuassu floral explants, targeting their organogenic or embryogenicdevelopment.

Final‐year students' perspectives on socially responsive curricula in medical education: A qualitative case study

open access: yesMedical Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction There is urgency for health professionals to be better prepared to tackle health inequities. Transitioning to responsive and contextually relevant curricula is an important strategy to equip students to be both clinically competent and critically conscious of the contexts in which they provide health care.

Starch synthesis in Brachypodium distachyon endosperm occurs in dynamic, connected amyloplast compartments

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary The morphology of starch granules is a major determinant of the functional and nutritional properties of starch and is highly variable among cereal species. Much of this morphological variation stems from differences in the spatial and temporal patterns of starch granule initiation in amyloplasts during grain development.
