Mating genes in Calonectria and evidence for a heterothallic ancestral state
The genus Calonectria includes many important plant pathogens with a wide global distribution. In order to better understand the reproductive biology of these fungi, we characterised the structure of the mating type locus and flanking genes using the genome sequences for seven Calonectria species.

Microsclerotial Enumeration, Size, and Survival of Calonectria pseudonaviculata [PDF]
Boxwood blight caused by Calonectria pseudonaviculata (Cps) is an emerging disease in the United States. Understanding the biology and survival of microsclerotia, the resting propagules of Cps, is important to managing the disease and restoring Cps-infested sites.

Sporulation Dynamics Among US Calonectria pseudonaviculata Isolates on Infected Boxwood Leaves
21 US Calonectria pseudonaviculata isolates were divided into three groups that differed in sporulation dynamics on detached leaves of Buxus sempervirens, suggesting virulence and transmission variations within the pathogen. ABSTRACT Calonectria pseudonaviculata (Cps), a causal agent of the devastating boxwood blight disease in gardens and landscapes ...
