Moisture Sorption Thermodynamics of Camellia oleifera

Food Biophysics, 2012
Moisture sorption isotherms of shelled and unshelled Camellia oleifera were determined using a gravimetric static method at 20, 30 and 40 °C with water activity ranging from 0.111 to 0.976. Estimated parameters and fitting ability of seven models were evaluated, and the Peleg model provided the best description of the experimental sorption behaviour ...

Cytological and morphology characteristics of natural microsporogenesis within Camellia oleifera

Physiology and Molecular Biology of Plants, 2021
Camellia oleifera is believed to exhibit a complex intraspecific polyploidy phenomenon. Abnormal microsporogenesis can promote the formation of unreduced gametes in plants and lead to sexual polyploidy, so it is hypothesized that improper meiosis probably results in the formation of natural polyploidy in Camellia oleifera.

Quality comparison of camellia (Camellia oleifera C.Abel) seed oil with different extraction methods

International Food Research Journal, 2023
The quality of camellia seed oil (CSO) varies with the oil extraction methods. In the present work, the oil yield, physicochemical properties, bioactive compounds, fatty acid composition, and Fourier transform infrared spectra of CSOs prepared by supercritical fluid, aqueous, pressing, and solvent extraction were explored systematically.

Microwave intermittent drying characteristics of camellia oleifera seeds

Journal of Food Process Engineering, 2020
AbstractThis paper reports on an experimental investigation of the drying characteristics and kinetics of camellia oleifera seeds under microwave intermittent drying conditions. The effects of key parameters such as microwave power, heating time, and the length of the intermittent time are discussed in detail.

Kitasatospora camelliae sp. nov., isolated from rhizosphere soil of Camellia oleifera

International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology
Strain HUAS MG31T was isolated from the rhizosphere soil of Camellia oleifera collected from Taoyuan County, China. This strain produced white substrate mycelium and hair brown aerial mycelium without diffusible pigment on the Gause’s synthetic No. 1 medium.

Cytotoxic Triterpenoid Glycosides from the Roots of Camellia oleifera

Planta Medica, 2014
Eight new triterpenoid saponins, oleiferosides A-H (1-8), were isolated from the EtOH extract of the roots of Camellia oleifera. Their structures were elucidated by a combination of 1D and 2D NMR techniques, mass spectrometry, and chemical methods. All were characterized to be oleanane-type saponins with sugar moieties linked to C-3 of the aglycone ...

Steam‐exploded camellia ( Camellia oleifera Abel.) seed protein improves the stability of camellia seed oil emulsions

International Journal of Food Science & Technology, 2022
Summary We aimed here to investigate the ability of steam‐exploded camellia seed protein (SECSP) in stabilising steam‐exploded camellia seed oil‐in‐water emulsion in comparison with soy protein isolate (SPI). Emulsions with different SECSP and SPI contents (0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2 g 100 mL −1
