Myra Breckinridge et le passager clandestin. Kitsch, camp et inconscient hollywoodien
Strongly criticised for its bad taste upon release, Myra Breckinridge (Michael Sarne, Fox, 1970) was a commercial disaster. It was later rehabilitated as a cult movie thanks to a cultural reevaluation which has considered this narrative experimentation ...

This study reveals that Urolithin A (UA) counteracts alcohol‐induced cognitive and social dysfunction (AICSD) via a gut microbiome‐dependent mechanism. UA‐enriched Bacteroids sartorii and Parabacteroids distasonis elevate anandamide (AEA), which activates the CB1R‐DRD2‐Rap1 signaling cascade to drive synaptic repair and reduce neuroinflammation ...

Redneck Riviera : kitsch et détournement amusé dans l’imaginaire de John Waters
Movies by John Waters always feel out of place, neither fully highbrow nor part of the classic underground cinema, they seem to walk a tight rope between avant-garde and exploitation.

Stochastic nanoscale physical cues induce glioblastoma (GBM)‐associated transcriptional traits in naïve astrocytes leading to spontaneous formation of spheroids. Cells within spheroids express activated‐MMP2 and a differential gene expression pattern involving P53 and NOTCH3, providing evidence for a role for changes in brain topography, as observed in

Competitive cAMP antagonists for cAMP-receptor proteins.
The two exocyclic oxygen atoms at phosphorus of cAMP have been replaced by a sulfur atom or by a dimethylamino group. These substitutions introduce chirality at the phosphorus atom; therefore, two diastereoisomers are known for each derivative: (SP)-cAMPS, (RP)-cAMPS, (SP)-cAMPN(CH3)2, and RP-cAMPN(CH3)2.

Cyclic AMP modulation of ion transport across frog retinal pigment epithelium. Measurements in the short-circuit state. [PDF]
In the frog retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), the cellular levels of cyclic AMP (cAMP) were measured in control conditions and after treatment with substances that are known to inhibit phosphodiesterase (PDE) activity (isobutyl-1-methylxanthine, SQ65442)

A Novel Function of Nonadecanoic Acid in Regulating Glucose Homeostasis
This study identifies the odd‐chain fatty acid C19:0 as an endogenous ligand of GPR120 that promotes glucose homeostasis via Gαq signaling. In obesity, elevated palmitic acid suppresses endogenous C19:0 production through a miRNA–PPARα–HACL1 pathway, offering a promising direction for understanding the role of OCFAs in human health.

Decoding Human Placental Cellular and Molecular Responses to Obesity and Fetal Growth
Women with obesity often deliver large‐for‐gestational‐age (LGA) infants. Single‐nucleus RNA sequencing of term placenta reveals that hypoxia and TNF‐α signaling in syncytiotrophoblasts are featured in maternal obesity, but inflammatory signatures in Hofbauer cells and response to lipid or carbohydrate metabolism in fibroblasts are specific to LGA.
