Influence of Reactive Additives on the Polyoxometalate‐Catalyzed Oxidation of Xylose to Formic Acid

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
In this study, the influence of various reactive additives on the kinetics of xylose oxidation to FA using the HPA‐5 (H8PV5Mo7O40) POM‐catalyst has been investigated both in aqueous as well as in aqueous‐methanolic solution. Abstract Chemo‐catalytic biomass valorisation using polyoxometalate (POM) catalysts is a promising strategy for green and ...

A Yeast‐Based Assay for Inhibitors of l‐Lactate Transport Utilizing Fluorescent Biosensors

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 20, Issue 7, April 1, 2025.
The use of the fluorescent ʟ‐lactate iLACCO biosensor was validated for IC50 determination with monocarboxylate transporters from humans and malaria parasites using co‐expression and fusion proteins. The yeast‐based assay is sensitive and background‐free.

“Ears of the Lynx” Sign on Brain MRI in Siblings With Spastic Paraplegia: A Case Report

open access: yesAnnals of the Child Neurology Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a rare, clinically and genetically heterogenous condition that selectively affects the terminal segment of the descending corticospinal tract of the lumbar spine area, causing lower extremity spastic weakness with or without associated complex neurological symptoms.

COLORS FROM THE PAST: ION BEAM ANALYSES ON GLASS FINDS EXCAVATED AT THE LATE IRON AGE SETTLEMENT FROM TINOSU, PRAHOVA COUNTY, ROMANIA

open access: yesChemPlusChem, Accepted Article.
This paper discusses the results of Ion Beam Analyses (IBA) on 20 glass items excavated at the Late Iron Age site from Tinosu, Prahova County, Romania, broadly dated to the 2nd c. BC – 2nd c. AD. Most glass fragments originate from naturally colored or intentionally colored tableware, which were either monochrome (green or blue) or polychrome (mosaic ...

Redox regulation of the insulin signalling pathway

open access: yesRedox Biology, 2021
The peptide hormone insulin is a key regulator of energy metabolism, proliferation and survival. Binding of insulin to its receptor activates the PI3K/AKT signalling pathway, which mediates fundamental cellular responses.

3D-structure of the Canes Venatici I Cloud [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
We present the improved distance moduli of 30 galaxies in the Canes Venatici I Cloud using advanced Tip of Red Giant Branch (TRGB) method (Makarov et.al. 2006). The method was determined for accurate estimation of the distances even if TRGB situated near photometric limit. The data were taken from the Archive of the Hubble Space Telescope (HST).
