Differences in the E3 regions of the canine adenovirus type 1 and type 2
Virus Research, 1992Sequence analysis of a region extending between the pVIII and the fiber gene of Canine adenovirus type 1 (Cav-1, Utrecht) and type 2 (Cav-2, Manhattan) was performed. The results revealed a high level of identity between the two viruses when the pVIII gene and the N-terminal part of the fiber gene were compared.

Identification and nucleotide sequence of the early region 1 from canine adenovirus types 1 and 2
Virus Research, 1989The genome of canine adenovirus type 1 (CAV-1) has been cloned and restriction maps compiled. These maps are compared with those of canine adenovirus type 2 (CAV-2). The left ends of both genomes were further characterised by DNA sequence analysis. Several features of the DNA sequence and predicted polypeptide sequence are similar to those of the human

Abstract Canine adenovirus (CAdV), a non‐enveloped, linear dsDNA virus, is a member of the genus Mastadenovirus of the family Adenoviridae. Two different serotypes of CAdVs, canine adenovirus type 1 (CAdV‐1), which causes infectious canine hepatitis (ICH), and canine ...

Cross-Protective Immunity to Canine Adenovirus Type 2 by Canine Adenovirus Type 1 Vaccination
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1978SUMMARY Vaccination of dogs (n = 6) with a single dose of canine adenovirus type 1 (cav-1) vaccine in 1 experiment prevented clinical disease that was otherwise produced in nonvaccinated (control) dogs (n = 6) after they were given aerosol, challenge exposure with canine adenovirus type 2 (cav-2).

Incomplete particles of canine adenovirus type 1: Occurrence and structure
Virology, 1989Replication of canine adenovirus (CAV) type 1 in dog kidney (DK) cells has been found to generate particles containing double-stranded DNA molecules of size 6-9 kbp with protein moieties at their 5' termini. The particles formed a discrete band in CsCl gradients at a density intermediate to that of intact virions and empty capsids.

Characterization of the genome of a vaccine strain of canine adenovirus type 1
Virus Genes, 1988Restriction endonuclease cleavage maps have been constructed for the genome of a canine adenovirus type 1 (CAV-1) vaccine strain (CLL; Connaught Laboratories, Ltd., Willowdale, Ontario). Restriction enzyme analyses were also carried out on CAV-1 (CLL) genomes isolated from viral stocks over 8 serial passages in a dog kidney cell line (DK 6722).

CANINE ADENOVIRUS TYPE 1 IN A FENNEC FOX (VULPES ZERDA)
Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine, 2014A 10-mo-old female fennec fox (Vulpes zerda) with drooling suddenly died and was examined postmortem. Histologic examination of different tissue samples was performed. Vacuolar degeneration and diffuse fatty change were observed in the liver. Several diagnostic methods were used to screen for canine parvovirus, canine distemper virus, canine influenza ...

Nucleotide and deduced amino acid sequence of the canine adenovirus type 1 proteinase
Virus Genes, 1992The DNA sequence of an open reading frame (ORF) corresponding to the canine adenovirus type 1 (Can1) proteinase gene was determined. A total of 1171 base pairs were sequenced from the downstream end of the HindIII-A Can1 genomic fragment, including adjacent regions corresponding to the carboxy-terminal portions of the hexon and the DNA-binding proteins.
