Characterization of canine adenovirus type 1 isolated from American black bears
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1988SUMMARY Viruses recovered from tissues taken at necropsy from American black bears were examined by use of immunofluorescence with polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies, virus neutralization with monoclonal antibodies, and restriction endonuclease analyses of the viral genomes.

AbstractCanine adenovirus type 1 (CAdV‐1) is the etiologic agent of fox encephalitis, and a virus strain from fox encephalitis is isolated and related research are conducted. In this experiment, the results showed that the F1301 strain was confirmed to be the CAdV‐1.

In this study, canine adenoviruses (CAdVs) from two acute fatal cases of infectious canine hepatitis (ICH) were analyzed using molecular detection and sequencing of the pVIII, E3, and fiber protein genes. Pathological findings in affected dogs were typical for CAdV-1 associated disease, characterized by severe centrilobular to panlobular ...

Cloning, physical mapping and cross-hybridization of the canine adenovirus types 1 and 2 genomes
Gene, 1987Cloned HindIII fragments of the type 1 and type 2 canine adenovirus (canAd) genomes were mapped with respect to the BamHI, EcoRI, HincII, PaeR7 and PstI restriction endonuclease cleavage sites. Considering the large differences found between the canAd-1 and canAd-2 DNA molecules, in terms of number and location of restriction sites, cross-hybridization

Canine Adenovirus Type 1 Infection of a Eurasian River Otter (Lutra lutra)
Veterinary Pathology, 2007A 10-year-old female Eurasian river otter ( Lutra lutra) died after prolonged anorexia and weight loss in the Seoul Grand Park Zoo, Seoul, Republic of Korea. On necropsy, the liver was found to be swollen and friable with 1 lobe enlarged and necrotic.

ObjectiveTo determine whether client‐owned dogs in Australia, last vaccinated withCanvac® vaccines containing canine parvovirus‐type 2 (CPV‐2), canine distemper virus (CDV), canine adenovirus type 2 (CAV‐2) ± canine parainfluenza virus (CPiV) at least 18 months ago, were seropositive or responded serologically to revaccination.MethodsA total of 235 ...

To date, no studies exist regarding the presence of canine adenovirus (CAdV) infection in foxes in Italy. Furthermore, the majority of worldwide investigations regarding the presence of CAdV in foxes have been carried out using common serological assays which are unable to differentiate between CAdV type 1 and CAdV type 2.

Infectious canine hepatitis: detection of canine adenovirus type 1 by polymerase chain reaction.
Acta veterinaria Hungarica, 1996A primer pair and a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method earlier tested for the detection of human and animal adenoviruses were used to demonstrate the presence of canine adenovirus type 1 (CAV-1) in tissue culture and clinical specimens. A simple procedure of sample preparation was elaborated making the PCR easily applicable in rapid confirmation of

The nucleotide sequences of the genomes of two strains of canine adenovirus, type 1 (Glaxo and CLL) have been determined within the region spanning approximately 0.80-0.91 map unit. Homology comparisons with other adenoviral DNAs indicate that this region contains part of the hexon-associated protein (pVIII) precursor gene on the left, and a 57-kDa ...
