Cannabinoid Hyperemesis [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, 2009
Cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome is characterized by chronic, heavy use of cannabis, recurrent episodes of severe nausea and intractable vomiting, and abdominal pain. Temporary relief of symptoms is achieved by taking a hot bath or shower, and resolution of the problem when cannabis use is stopped.

Mit sichtbarem Licht schaltbare Benzimidazol‐Azo‐Arene wirken als β‐Arrestin2 funktionell selektive Cannabinoid‐Rezeptor 2 Agonisten

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 135, Issue 49, December 4, 2023., 2023

Radiographic and histopathological study of gastrointestinal dysmotility in lipopolysaccharide‐induced sepsis in the rat

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, Volume 35, Issue 10, October 2023., 2023
Here we studied radiographically in conscious rats the effects of sepsis induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on gastrointestinal motility, and assessed the accompanying histological damage caused by the endotoxin in different tissues. Gastric emptying was intensely delayed at all doses, but the intestine was affected in a dose‐ and time‐dependent ...

Cannabinoids and glaucoma [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Ophthalmology, 2004
Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness in the world. In spite of the diverse therapeutic possibilities, new and better treatments for glaucoma are highly desirable. Cannabinoids effectively lower the intraocular pressure (IOP) and have neuroprotective actions. Thus, they could potentially be useful in the treatment of glaucoma.

Cannabinoids and Epilepsy [PDF]

open access: yesNeurotherapeutics, 2015
Cannabis has been used for centuries to treat seizures. Recent anecdotal reports, accumulating animal model data, and mechanistic insights have raised interest in cannabis-based antiepileptic therapies. In this study, we review current understanding of the endocannabinoid system, characterize the pro- and anticonvulsive effects of cannabinoids [e.g ...

Heteroadamantyl Cannabinoids [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2010
The aliphatic side chain plays a pivotal role in determining the cannabinergic potency of tricyclic classical cannabinoids. We have synthesized a series of analogues in which the C3 position is substituted either directly or through a one-carbon atom linker with an adamantylamine or with an oxa- or an oxazaadamantane. The oxaadamantane pharmacophore in
