Non-canonical Wnt signaling pathways in hematopoiesis
Immunologic Research, 2009Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are a rare population of cells that are responsible for life-long generation of blood cells of all lineages. In order to maintain their numbers, HSCs must establish a balance between the opposing cell fates of self-renewal and initiation of hematopoietic differentiation.

Wnt signaling through canonical and non-canonical pathways: Recent progress
Growth Factors, 2005The Wnt-beta-catenin pathway regulates cell adhesion, morphology, proliferation, migration and structural remodeling. The aspects of the canonical and non-canonical pathways are reviewed here. The major components of this network are the Wnt ligands which bind to frizzled receptors at the cell surface.

Canonical Wnt/β-catenin Signaling
Science's STKE, 2004This animation provides an interactive presentation of the Wnt signaling pathway as it may occur in multiple cell types. This animation would be useful in teaching developmental biology, immunology, and cell signaling courses. Activation of Wnt pathways can modulate cell proliferation, cell survival, cell behavior, and cell fate.

The Canonical Wnt/β-Catenin Signalling Pathway
2008Embryonic development of multicellular organisms is an incredibly complex process that relies heavily on evolutionarily conserved signalling pathways to provide crucial cell-cell communication. Typically, secreted signalling proteins such as Wnts, BMPs, and Hedgehogs released by one cell population will trigger concentration-dependent responses in ...
