Synergistic Effects of Salicylic Acid and Calcium Oxide Nanoparticles on Physiological and Biochemical Quality of Fresh-Cut Lettuce During Cold Storage

open access: yesHorticulturae
Fresh-cut lettuce rapidly deteriorates during storage, and developing safe strategies to maintain its quality is critical. This study evaluated the effects of 2 mM salicylic acid (SA), 100 mg L−1 calcium oxide nanoparticles (CaNP), and their combination (

Bimetallic Nanoreactor Activates cGAS‐STING Pathway via mtDNA Release for Cancer Metalloimmunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 26, 30 March 2026.
A bimetallic Mn–Ca nanoreactor (MCC) is developed as a non‐nucleotide STING nanoagonist for cancer metalloimmunotherapy. MCC induces Ca2+ overload and hydroxyl radical generation, resulting in mitochondrial damage and mtDNA release. The released mtDNA cooperates with Mn2+ to robustly activate cGAS–STING signaling.

Habitat Quality Assessment Within Expanded Ranges of Dengue Vectors Using a Composite Index Scale

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
Using MaxEnt and a novel Composite Index Scale (CIS), we quantified habitat quality for Aedes aegypti and A. albopictus across historical and future (SSP1–4) climate scenarios in Asia. We found that vulnerable suitable habitat areas for A. aegypti and A.

Chitosan-alginate nanoparticles (CANPs) as potential nanosorbent for removal of Hg (II) ions

open access: yesEnvironmental Nanotechnology, Monitoring & Management, 2016
Abstract Chitosan-alginate nanoparticles were prepared using microemulsion method for removal of Hg (II) ions from aqueous solutions and optimization was done in terms of two biopolymers, crosslinker concentrations. Plausible interactions between the material and Hg(II) ions were explored after adsorption and explained by characterizing by various ...
