Radar estimation of apparent canting angle in raindrops
The use of switched circular transmission in polarisation diversity radar enables an estimate of apparent canting angles in rain to be obtained. Results are presented from an X-band radar in Ottawa.

Plane jets impinging on porous walls [PDF]
The flow of a two-dimensional plane turbulent jet impinging on a porous screen has been studied experimentally. It is shown how the overall flow structure depends on the porosity of the surface. For low screen porosity (# < 0.41, say), transverse wall

Variation of canting-angle distribution as a function of wind velocity
A theoretical model for wind gusting, based on detalled observation of stroms, is presented as a basis for predicting rain-induced crosspolarisation. This model is used to provide an explanation for raindrop canting-angle distribution other than the wind-profile effect.

Numerical Analysis and Optimization of a Winglet for a Small Horizontal Wind Turbine Blade
Wind energy is one of the main alternative energy sources and is present in various forms, from large offshore wind turbine installations, to small, privately used, small horizontal wind turbines (SHWT). Optimization of the turbine blades, and eventually
