Capacitance measurement method

Proceedings of IEEE. AFRICON '96, 2002
This paper presents an automatic measurement method based on the classic Schering bridge applying analog-to-digital (ADC) and digital-to-analog (DAC) converters, integrated circuitry and a personal computer. Two versions for the electric circuit are analysed. Theoretical models were developed in order to explain the experimental results of the circuits.

Triboelectricity in Capacitive Biopotential Measurements

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 2011
Capacitive biopotential measurements suffer from strong motion artifacts, which may result in long time periods during which a reliable measurement is not possible. This study examines contact electrification and triboelectricity as possible reasons for these artifacts and discusses local triboelectric effects on the electrode-body interface as well as

Charge-based capacitance measurement for bias-dependent capacitance

IEEE Electron Device Letters, 2006
In this letter, charge-based capacitance measurement (CBCM) is applied to characterize bias-dependent capacitances in a CMOS transistor. Due to its special advantage of being free from the errors induced by charge injection, the operation of charge-injection-induced-error-free CBCM allows for the extraction of full-range gate capacitance from the ...

Capacitance-to-voltage converter for capacitance measuring system

2011 4th International Conference on Mechatronics (ICOM), 2011
The objective of this paper is to provide a lower range capacitance value in a wider range of detection to be used in high frequency system. This is achieved by designing the Op-amp using CMOS 0.13-μm technology using switched-capacitor technique. Evaluation of the circuit is based on analytical approach and the simulation is carried out using the PC ...

Transmission line capacitance measurement

IEEE Microwave and Guided Wave Letters, 1991
The capacitance of coplanar lines is measured with two new techniques, one utilizing the resistance of the line and the other that of a resistor embedded in the line. The results of both measurements agree closely with calculations. A technique for directly comparing the capacitances of two similar transmission lines is also demonstrated. The relevance

Organic-MISTFT capacitance measurements

IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, 2006
Besides silicon semiconductor technologies more and more plastic integrated circuits attracts the attention of the scientific world. Polymer technology is not expected to replace silicon technology but to fill a gap in the low cost and short lifetime market of the semiconductor industry.

Membrane capacitance measurements during acetylcholine action

Neuropharmacology, 1976
Abstract Capacitance of the membrane of Helix aspersa neurones was measured by frequency analysis. The specific membrane capacitance in resting conditions was 10 ± 4.7 μ F/cm 2 . No capacitance changes were observed during acetylcholine-induced potential changes.

Improvement of high-value capacitance measurement

2012 Conference on Precision electromagnetic Measurements, 2012
This paper describes improvement of high-value capacitance measurement method based on the sampling technology and the inductive shunt. The method can measure capacitance from 10µF to 1mF, frequency from 100 Hz to 1 kHz.
