Denning Phenology Mediates Sea‐Ice Loss Impacts on Early Reproductive Success in Polar Bears

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 8, August 2026.
Changes in overwinter sheltering phenology in response to climate change and their fitness consequences have rarely been studied. Here, we show that climate change has disrupted the phenology of overwinter maternity denning in polar bears, with females emerging from den earlier when sea‐ice had been scarce the preceding year.

Differentiating solar lentigines from post‐inflammatory hyperpigmentation with hyperspectral imaging: A pilot study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 48, Issue 4, Page 738-746, August 2026.
This preliminary study attempted to characterize solar lentigines and post‐inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) observed on Japanese women. Colorimetric features and chromophore concentrations were measured using hyperspectral imaging for each hyperpigmentation type.

Evaluation of Oxidative Profiling in Semen Fractions and Its Relationship With Sperm Function in Kangal Akkaraman Rams

open access: yesReproduction in Domestic Animals, Volume 61, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The determination of sperm oxidative stress provides significant information related to semen quality. Most studies investigate oxidative stress markers only at the level of seminal plasma, but this approach may provide an incomplete overview of the oxidative status of semen.
