The Capacitive Chair

2015
Modern office work often consists of spending long hours in a sitting position. This can cause a number of health-related issues, including chronic back pain. Ergonomic sitting requires suitably adjusted chairs and switching through a variety of different sitting positions throughout the day.

Determination of the theoretical capacitance of a concave capacitance sensor

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1979
The practical use of four concave capacitance plates for determining in situ volume fractions in two-phase pipelines has been amply demonstrated. In this letter, the system is analyzed theoretically using a microstrip technique and the results are compared with experimental data.

Capacitive Electrodes in Electroencepahlography

2006 International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2006
We present a forward problem formulation for computing biopotentials measured with dry or capacitive electrodes. This formulation is not quasistatic and has mixed boundary conditions. Our results show that simple approximations to the measurements based on capacitive coupling are adequate in most situations.

Capacitation of Rabbit Spermatozoa

Nature, 1958
SUMMARY The capacity of rabbit spermatozoa to penetrate the zona pellucida of the ovum has been reported to depend upon pre-conditioning within the reproductive tract of the oestrous female. The present experiments show that spermatozoa can be capacitated in the uteri and uterine tubes of rabbits ovariectomized 1 month previously, in the ...

[In vitro capacitation].

Gynecologie, obstetrique & fertilite, 2009
Capacitation is a prerequisite for mammalian spermatozoa to fertilize oocytes. Lipids play a crucial role in the structural and functional organization of sperm plasma membrane. Lipid and membrane protein ordering changes dramatically during sperm capacitation but the resulting effects differ according to the regions of the sperm head.
