Capacitive cylinder pressure sensor

A capacitive pressure sensor for an internal combustion engine is provided having a housing having a bottom surface, variable capacitor and circuitry. The variable capacitor is formed by a stationary electrode and an elastically bendable electrode. Pressure exerted on the bottom surface acts to bend the elastically bendable electrode.

Pressure Ulcer Prevention System Based in Capacitive Sensors

2017
Excessive pressure applied on bony prominence during a long period is the main extrinsic factor associated to pressure ulcers (PU). This is a common situation in patients using a wheelchair as a movement support for most of the day activities and patients with cerebral palsy.

A Unified Theory for Porous Capacitive Pressure Sensors

Capacitive pressure sensors (CPS) are widely used in robotics, prosthetics, biomimetics, and biosens ing. Existing CPS—including those with engineered dielectrics, engineered electrodes, and hybrid capaci tive–resistive responses—are modeled separately and therefore lack generalizable design rules.
