A Capacity Configuration Control Strategy to Alleviate Power Fluctuation of Hybrid Energy Storage System Based on Improved Particle Swarm Optimization

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
In view of optimizing the configuration of each unit’s capacity for energy storage in the microgrid system, in order to ensure that the planned energy storage capacity can meet the reasonable operation of the microgrid’s control strategy, the

Maximising runway capacity by mid-term prediction of runway configuration and aircraft sequencing using machine learning

open access: yes, 2018
Maximising runway capacity is one of the essential measures to meet the growing traffic demand. Runway capacity maximisation is an open challenge in the literature due to a complex and non-linear interplay of many factors which are stochastic in nature ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

QoS Provisioning in Wi-Fi Networks: Capacity Modeling and Resource Control

open access: yes, 2005
The ubiquitous Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) networks, and their increasing quality of service (QoS) requirements for emerging applications, motivate extensive studies of QoS provisioning in such networks.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

A Two‐Stage Robust Optimization Method for Grid‐Connected Energy Storage to Improve the Resilience of Distribution Networks

open access: yesEngineering Reports
To address the challenges of limited operational resilience and insufficient support for critical loads in distribution networks during extreme disturbances, this study proposes a two‐stage robust optimization method for configuring grid‐connected energy
