Detection in capillary electrophoresis
Electrophoresis, 2000A review of the four major, on-line, capillary electrophoresis (CE) detection modalities is presented. It is shown that each detection method, fluorescence, absorbance (conventional and nonconventional), electrochemical and refractive index, have distinct advantages and limitations when applied to analysis in a CE format.

Forensic capillary electrophoresis
TrAC Trends in Analytical Chemistry, 1996Abstract Capillary electrophoresis (high-performance electrophoresis) has recently become established as a versatile and powerful separation technique. It has a broad applicability and can be used with a variety of detection systems. An introduction is given to this analytical technique, then some applications to forensic problems are discussed.

Multidimensional capillary electrophoresis
ELECTROPHORESIS, 2014Multidimensional separation where two or more orthogonal displacement mechanisms are combined is a promising approach to increase peak capacity in CE. The combinations allow dramatic improvement of analytical performance since the total peak capacity is given by a product of the peak capacities of all methods.

Affinity capillary electrophoresis
ELECTROPHORESIS, 1997AbstractThe application of affinity capillary electrophoresis (ACE) to the study of molecular interactions is reviewed. ACE appears to be a sensitive, versatile and convenient tool to obtain reliable data on binding constants and stoichiometries of interacting systems using the Hummel‐Dreyer method and variants thereof.

Capillary Electrophoresis of Hemoglobin
Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, 2003Capillary electrophoresis (CE) has been used in a variety of in-house capillary isoelectric focusing (CIEF) and capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) assays for the detection of hemoglobin (Hb) variants and the quantitation of HbA2 and HbF. A commercial kit has also been produced for the analysis of hemoglobin variants and thalassemia screening.

Thermostating in capillary electrophoresis
Chromatographia, 1997The use of high voltages across a electrophoresis capillary will increase the temperature of the buffer due to Joule heating. As a result temperature control in CE is rather important since variations in the buffer temperature will result in changes in the pi-I of the buffer, peak shape, migration time, reproducibility, efficiency, 3-D structure of ...

Capillary electrophoresis of pesticides
ELECTROPHORESIS, 1997AbstractPesticides are important and diverse environmental and agricultural species. Their determination in pesticide formulations, in feed and food, and in complex environmental matrices (e.g., water, soil, sludge, sediments, etc.) often requires separation methods of high efficiency, unique selectivity and high sensitivity.

Haplotyping by capillary electrophoresis
Journal of Chromatography A, 2005The investigation of the genetic background and phenotype structures of complex diseases, such as cardiovascular or psychiatric disorders and tumors, is one of the most scrutinized fields of the post genomic era. Besides the multiplex analysis of genetic markers and polymorphisms throughout the whole genome, more and more attention is focused on the ...
